RADIO PROGRAM No. 175-Are the Bible Miracles Only Myths?

ANNOUNCER: Do the wonderful healings in the Bible, like the restoring of sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf, have a basis in fact? Or are they a kind of legend of only symbolic importance?

QUESTIONER: The religious news columnist Louis Cassels reported recently that a number of theologians believe that the Bible needs to be reinterpreted to make it believable and acceptable to people today. He said, "There is a tacit understanding among most of the reinterpreters that any Biblical account of a physical miracle must automatically be labeled mythical."

How do Christian Scientists view these proposals to reinterpret the Bible to make it more believable?
