Christian Science found me...

Christian Science found me when I was walking through the wilderness of despair and when hope was dim for my living a life of normal activity. I had led a life of almost semi-invalidism, and at times I was an invalid. Heart trouble, a type of anemia said to be incurable, migraine, and quinsy were some of the ailments I was suffering from. One day, when the physical difficulties were more aggressive than over, in deepest despair I prayed aloud, "Dear God, there must be a better way!"

The answer came to me, "Go to the Christian Science Reading Room." I had never been inside a Christian Science Reading Room, but I knew there was one several blocks away, I went there and seated myself at one of the tables and proceeded to study the Lesson-Sermon for that week. I had never before seen a copy of the Quarterly, in which the lessons are outlined. I visited that Reading Room almost daily, and I purchased the necessary books for the study of Christian Science. I had taken my stand to rely on its teachings, and as a result I was freed from all my ailments.

Friends and members of my family have acknowledged the wonderful healings and blessings that have come to me through Science. I am deeply grateful for the understanding of God and of Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, that has come from its study, I am grateful for all the channels of the Christian Science movement: our churches, Reading Rooms, Sunday Schools, lectures, and the periodicals, including The Christian Science Monitor. For membership in The Mother Church, for the privilege of having served the Cause of Christian Science in several branch churches, and for class instruction, I am deeply thankful.—(Mrs.) Elaine Mont Pas, Oak Park, Illinois.
