"What It Means to Be a Christian Scientist"

The inspiring message of the Tuesday Evening Meeting, "What It Means to Be a Christian Scientist," held in The Mother Church on June 9, 1964 has encircled the globe. More than twenty-six hundred branch churches and societies, organizations at colleges and universities, and informal groups of members of The Mother Church have participated in the meeting. They have listened to tape recordings of it in English, French, German, and Spanish, or to the reading of manuscript translations in Danish. Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish.

In Saigon, Vietnam, and in other areas, members of The Mother Church serving in the Armed Forces have been uplifted and encouraged by its message. Also, informal groups in Fiji, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and other countries have felt its healing benefits.

More and more, churches and societies are recognizing the requisite of prayerful preparatory work for a meeting which will successfully accomplish its healing mission. One church in Minnesota telephoned every member the day of the meeting. A most gratifying turnout resulted. The church writes, "Several members who for many months had not been present at our services attended this meeting and have been at our services since."
