WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST

[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on April 18, 1965.]

They shall never perish
(John 10:28)

In the Greek the statement is an unusually strong one, even stronger than is suggested by the words of the King James Version, for a literal rendering would he, "They shall certainly not perish forever"; and since in the original the negative qualifies the verb rather than "forever," Plummer offers the rendering, "They shall never die for all eternity."

Pluck (John 10:28, 29)
