In the latter part of 1931 I was employed by the general contractor in the field office at the site of the new building for the Christian Science Publishing Society in Boston. My work brought me in contact daily with a consecrated Christian Scientist, who patiently answered my many questions about his religion, of which I had previously known nothing.
Soon I attended a Christian Science lecture in The Mother Church, and shortly thereafter I started to read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The new concept of God which I gained from this book changed my atheistic leanings completely; and within two days from the time I started reading it the tobacco habit, which had bound me for several years, left me, never to return.
