WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST
[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on February 21, 1965.]
Moderation (Phil. 4:5)
The Greek word used at this point can mean "moderation," as the King James Version suggests, but is also used to imply consideration, fairness, forbearance. The New English Bible has "magnanimity"; while Good-speed suggests the thought by rendering, "Let all men see your forbearing spirit."
The elders of Israel (Ex. 3: 16)
