The value of attendance at Christian Science lectures and of applying even a single statement of truth given at a lecture was proven to me in the healing of a severe burn.

I burned my hand just after I had attended a lecture in the course of which the lecturer had made it clear that the spiritual forces of spiritual law are continually working for us. I decided at that instant I could let those forces work in this case.

The pain would let up; I would go about my work, and then the pain would return. The suggestion of a hand that could not be used tried to present itself and make me think a busy week ahead would be much disrupted.
