How Near Is God to Us?
If one were to ask the first person one met on the street, "How near is God to you?" that person might have no sense of what was meant by the question, for not many persons know God as their Life and Mind, as an ever-present, omnipotent power, available to meet their every need.
But there are some who could give a good answer to the question about God's nearness. These people are learning God's nature each day as they study and apply Christian Science, as they strive to think right and to live the fact that man, God's own image, expresses God's nature. They are learning that God is infinite Love, to be expressed and found to be expressed everywhere.
Tennyson wrote, "Closer is He than breathing, and nearer than hands and feet." Christian Science not only brings God very near to us but also makes Him understandable, so that we can utilize this understanding in every detail of our lives with good results.
