In November, 1912, a friend of my mother's told her about a healing she had had two years before through the teachings of Christian Science. At this time my mother was very ill with deep abscesses. She had been a semi-invalid for sixteen years. During that time she had consulted many doctors as well as a specialist but without results. A sister who had been looking after her in her home for five months took Mother seventy miles to the city to visit a Christian Science practitioner.

This sister, who had had a sore throat for eleven years, was healed at the visit to the practitioner. Mother's healing was slower; but in two weeks she was able to resume all the household duties for her family. Through this healing, her parents, three sisters, and a brother's family all turned to Christian Science in gratitude.

I am very grateful for all the good that has come to me through Science and for the many healings, both mental and physical, that I have witnessed and experienced. My first healing was that of a goiter. After I came to the city and started attending church, the condition just vanished.
