No Room For Them In The Inn (Luke 2:7)
Some Bible scholars contend that the inn referred to here was a guest chamber in a private house open to travelers. Mary and Joseph, finding this chamber already occupied, had to resort to the quarters set aside for animals.
As his custom was (Luke 4:16) Dummelow says: "When living at Nazareth, Jesus had been accustomed to read the lessons as an ordinary member of the congregation. Even boys under age were allowed to do this."
