New Healing Concepts

When in spite of our efforts a diseased condition fails to yield, an inharmonious human relationship does not change, our employment or supply seems inadequate, or our church does not grow, new concepts are called for.

Healing takes place through the application of Christian Science because physical or personal conditions are actually mental conditions. The condition of the body manifests the thought of the individual who possesses the body. The quality of a personal relationship expresses primarily the thought of the individual who experiences that relationship. An individual's supply manifests his thought in regard to supply. The progress of a church is largely the result of the thoughts of individual members of that church. Whereas the leading factor in a case seems to be material, Science teaches that matter itself is thought. It is the subjective state of the carnal, or mortal, mind.

Discordant or unprogressive conditions are erroneous, because God, the one Mind, is All—all substance, all intelligence, and all power. An individual unaware of this truth believes his mortal thoughts to be real. But upon awakening to the allness of divine Mind, he gradually surrenders his belief in mortal thoughts and accepts the true substance, intelligence, and power. The result bears witness to the truth: disease, discord, lack, inactivity are replaced by health, harmony, spiritual substance, ceaseless and perfect action —qualities conceived by the one Mind and reflected by Mind's image and likeness, man.
