Walking with Love

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Summer vacation was over. A few days before school was to start, Janet and her sisters were going to the store with their mother so they could buy pencils, paper, scissors, and crayons to use in their schoolwork. While they waited for Mother to get ready, they went out to play.

Janet began jumping on some old boards in her bare feet. She did not know there were sharp nails in the boards until she stepped on one.

She went into the house crying and told her mother her foot hurt, and it was hard to walk. She thought, I won't be able to start school with the others.
