I was brought up in an orthodox...
I was brought up in an orthodox Protestant church, and I had been taught that God loves and cares for His children. This had been proven to me many times through answered prayer. However, I had not learned that this care extended also to the healing of the ills of the flesh.
When I read in Science and Health these words of our beloved Leader (Pref., p. xi): "The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus' time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation," I held some reservations about God's healing of sickness in addition to sin. However, I attended church and studied faithfully and entered my young daughter in the Christian Science Sunday School.
It was not long before the opportunity came to prove that Christian Science does heal completely and permanently. My daughter came home from school one day crying. During play she had been pushed down some steps and injured. There was a lump about the size of an egg in her groin, and her body was bent over.
