THAT NIGHT ON GALILEE
See
how the fantasy of fright
Engulfed the doubting twelve that night
As wind and waves the vessel swept,
And peacefully the Master slept,
He, waked when they in fear were tense,
Rose in divine magnificence,
Whom nothing mortal ever moved.
And straightway to his students proved:
The brutal waves and storm and stress
Were all in their own consciousness.
O gentle Love, instill in me
Your peace that reigned on Galilee.
