If I were asked what single thing we must do if the life of the individual and nation is to last and the cause of righteousness is to survive, I would unhesitatingly say that the first as well as the last thing we must do is to build on spiritual foundations.
"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain" [Rev. Stand. Ver.], expresses the fundamental thought that God works in human affairs. We must not forget that it is only when man's efforts are in harmony with the divine purpose that lasting values can be achieved. . . .
