RADIO PROGRAM No. 113 - Another Chance

HOST: Many people, looking back over past experiences, would welcome an opportunity to start all over again, this time avoiding past mistakes and disappointments.

INTERVIEWER: In the book "People of the Way" the British clergyman Neville D. Gill said: "If religion had no other function, I believe it would still be valid for this alone, that it enables us to reestablish our faith in ourselves and our ability to start anew." (Copyright. 1961, by Neville D. Gill, Skeffington and Son, Ltd., London. England.) Do you believe we really can start anew?

SPEAKER: Yes, this is one of the great promises of Christianity, the opportunity for another chance. There are inspiring accounts in both the Old and New Testaments of people who found a way to rebuild their lives and who did this through divine power. The key to a fresh start is not simply a matter of self-help or positive outlook, but rather a prayerful turning to God, a conviction that His is the power which helps us rebuild shattered lives.
