The Christian Scientist in Business
[Of Special Interest to Young Men and Women]
In her first address in The Mother Church, Mrs. Eddy said (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 110), "Beloved children, the world has need of you,—and more as children than as men and women: it needs your innocence, unselfishness, faithful affection, uncontaminated lives."
As Christian Scientists entering the business world, we need to understand that man is not a mortal, sophisticated and worldly-wise, but an immortal idea of God, expressing purity, assurance, and unlimited intelligence. In proportion as we understand this truth and claim it as our selfhood, we are freed from such limitations of mortal existence as the lack of maturity, intelligence, experience, or knowledge.
According to Christian Science, man's individuality and identity have never entered matter and are therefore ageless, existing forever in divine Mind. Man is the expression of the Mind which is All, and he never includes a single erroneous or limiting concept.
