I first became acquainted with Christian Science at about the time I entered high school. Having attended an orthodox Sunday School, I was happily surprised to find that in the Christian Science Sunday School, in distinct contrast to my previous experience, the full class time was given to the earnest study of the Bible Lessons, provided in the Christian Science Quarterly. There was no tendency to drift into irrelevant conversation. It was in the Christian Science Sunday School that I learned how to make practical use of the truth presented in the Bible through the enlightenment which Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy affords.

Early in ray experience I was freed from tonsillitis, which had previously recurred several times each winter, causing me to be absent from school for several days with each attack, and during a Wednesday testimony meeting I experienced an instantaneous healing of a sty, after heeding a desire to give audible thanks for other help received.

Later there was an occasion when the throat difficulty appeared again, but it was quickly and permanently healed after a practitioner pointed out that man cannot harbor resentment or any hurt feelings. This was the exact thought needed to eliminate the error from my consciousness. I understood the necessity of rejecting personal sense, and there has been no recurrence of the sore throat.
