Signs of the Times
Stamford Advocate
Dr. David Goodman, Columnist in the Stamford Advocate Stamford, Connecticut
Again and again the great religious sages tell us: "Be not anxious." We listen reverently and are eager to follow their advice. But the spiritual knowhow of faith somehow or other eludes us.
In actual fact, we are anxious about many things: the health and safety of our children, their success in school, our ability to guide them right, our power to win and hold their love. In our anxiety we push and strain at our problems and, unfortunately, become thereby less effective at solving them.
