Ever since my mother was completely healed of grief at the passing of my father, when I was nine months old, she and I have relied wholeheartedly on Christian Science and its teachings of man's oneness, or unity, with his Father-Mother God. My regular attendance at a Christian Science Sunday School furnished me with a solid basis from which I have been able to prove time and again the practicality of Christian Science.

I experienced wonderful freedom from diseases that many accept as a necessary part of childhood. For example, in four years of preparatory school in England, I missed not more than three days of classes through ill health.

Several years ago, when I was attending an English boarding school, an epidemic of influenza swept the country. Great fear of the disease was expressed when cases appeared in my dormitory. As most of my friends became ill, an air of resignation reigned, and there seemed no hope of escaping the ailment.
