RADIO PROGRAM No. 76 - The Great Physician

HOST: You get a picture of the interest in health these days when you read that in the United States alone the combined amounts spent by Government, industry, and other private sources for medical research rose from $88,000,000 in 1947 to $585,000,000 in 1959.

It's obvious that vast numbers of people are desperately looking for health and long to know where to find it. What are your thoughts on this subject?

SPEAKER: Everyone respects the humane efforts being made to provide better physical care. But isn't it true that something more is needed, more than looking into cells and tissues, into the functions of the physical body, if we're to have a true picture of the whole man? In other words, physical research doesn't go far enough.
