Jesus said (John 8:32), "Ye...
Jesus said (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." It is my gratitude for Mrs. Eddy's revelation of the meaning of this wonderful saying that has enabled me to be free of many false claims of mortal mind and has prompted me to write this testimony.
Before I knew anything of Christian Science, I had experienced a slipped disk on three occasions. I wore a steel support and was threatened with the necessity of wearing it and therefore never bending my back for the rest of my life. Soon after I learned something of Christian Science, I discarded the support, and since then I have performed all my household duties, including interior decorating and laundry, without any domestic help and with complete freedom.
For many years I visited a chiropodist regularly for treatment of ingrowing toenails. After my knowledge of Christian Science increased, I found this to be quite unnecessary, and my feet have not troubled me since. Shoes I had discarded as uncomfortable, I can now wear without any discomfort. The toes are healed.
Through the teachings of Christian Science we are maintaining an excellent state of health in our household without any medical aid. What might be regarded as awkward situations have been taken care of beautifully, and apparently lost articles have invariably come to light.
I was directed to inquire about Christian Science in the first place as a help to our daughter, who, through fear, had been unable to sleep for a long time. Sometimes during the day too she would burst into tears in uncontrollable distress. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner, she was healed very quickly.
Although my husband is retired, we are able, in demonstration of the true nature of supply, to send her to a school for the children of Christian Scientists where she is leading a very happy and useful life.
It is a comfort to know the truth of Mrs. Eddy's saying, so often coupled with the one of Jesus already mentioned, that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 494). This enabled me to be quite calm on occasions when previously I should have been filled with fear and dread.
We who know and accept the truth of Christian Science are indeed blessed, and I am very happy to be serving this great Cause in a branch church and thankful for the wonderful enlightenment gained through class instruction.—(Mrs.) Margaret A. Ludgate, East Horsley, Surrey, England.
