I should like to express my...
I should like to express my gratitude for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and for class instruction. I know that such growth and progress in the study of Christian Science as I have made have resulted primarily from church membership and class instruction.
About two and a half years ago, my husband and I had wonderful proof of God's omnipotence. The experience we had brings to mind part of the story of the temptation of Jesus. "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me" (Matt. 4:8, 9).
My husband and I greatly desired to adopt a child. We had applied to a well-known adoption agency in another city. When we went to the agency for a personal interview, the social workers told us that they had thoroughly investigated our home and financial condition and found that we qualified as adoptive parents in every way, except that we did not depend on material means for healing sickness.
