"No other gods"
Christians the world over are familiar with the First Commandment (Ex. 20:3), "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Yet many of us fail to search out its entire meaning.
Since Christian Science accepts as true the account of creation in the first chapter of Genesis, it teaches that man, created in God's image, must reflect spirituality instead of materiality.
Nearly two thousand years ago Christ Jesus proved that an understanding of these truths of God and of man will heal the sick and the sinning. Jesus knew that matter cannot cure mankind's ills, regardless of how much is said to the contrary, and this is the reason he did not use the material remedies that were available in his time.
