How grateful I am to have...

How grateful I am to have Christian Science! For thirty-seven years it has met all my needs, physical as well as financial. During a time of economic depression, I was left with two young children to support. At this time I found Christian Science and began its earnest study. I was led to take the nurses training course at one of the Sanatoriums of the Christian Science Benevolent Association and have found fulfillment and joy through Christian Science nursing.

It is for a physical healing that I wish especially to express my gratitude. I was on a nursing case and collapsed. I was taken to my daughter's home, where I became unconscious. From then on I have no recollection of what went on; but I have been told that the suggestion of death was aggressive. A practitioner was working for me through prayer, and I had the loyal support of my family.

I was grateful that whenever I was firmly told that I must rouse myself, I repeated healing statements of truth from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I would become unconscious again, but the absolute understanding that there is indeed no death, which I had made my own through the years, was solid conviction; and even though I appeared to be unconscious, I refused to concede to this enemy. By morning there was victory. I became fully conscious and was able to listen to the Bible Lesson, outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly, when it was read to me.
