WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST

[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on December 29, 1963.]

I will lay thy stones with fair colours (Isa. 54:11)

The Hebrew word rendered "fair colours" means more strictly "antimony"—a black metallic powder which may be conceived of as setting off the stones more clearly than would ordinary mortar. This led the Revised Standard Version to translate, "I will set your stones in antimony."

My kindness shall not depart from thee (Isa. 54:10)
