The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword" ( Hebr. 4:12). This was proved to me in regard to a growth on the back of my neck. I had had it for a few years without taking any action about it. Every time I went to a hairdresser my attention was called to the growth, and I was told that something should be done about it.

Two winters ago I met weekly with a group of non-Christian Scientists whose conversations always seemed to be about malignant growths. While I did not join in the conversations, I realized afterward that I should have done prayerful metaphysical work to realize the unreality of the error which was being voiced, because the growth began to increase in size.

I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, which was willingly given. It took several months before the healing was complete. At times when I became discouraged the thought came to have the condition medically diagnosed. I then asked myself whether I would submit to surgery if it were recommended or whether I would rely on God.
