"GOD SETTETH THE SOLITARY IN FAMILIES"
Psalms 68:6
It
is God who "setteth the solitary
In families";
His mighty hand that guards and governs
Their long wanderings.
Warmth of hearth—good folk gathered
together
In families.
Thus do the solitary learn
Selflessness;
Gladness of giving freely again
And yet again.
There they may hear sweet songs of joy
From humble deeds
Done uncomplainingly
And well.
There they may see obedience,
When gracious Love speaks
Gently into
The listening ear.
Who knows but Love how healing comes,
Swift-winged, to those who,
Once walking alone in darkness,
Find themselves folded,
Cherished, loved, forever blest,
In families.
