Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health...

Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 79), "Giving does not impoverish us in the service of our Maker, neither does withholding enrich us." Love-inspired giving is, of course, one of the keys to greater blessings and understanding in Christian Science, and it is with joy that I give this testimony.

I am grateful indeed for a wonderfully happy home, for marriage to a fine Christian Scientist, and for our family of nine fine young Scientists. I am grateful for many healings. Lack has been overcome. So-called childhood diseases, injuries resulting from accidents, and eye trouble have been healed. School problems and relationship difficulties have been worked out. The use of alcohol and tobacco has been given up. An inferiority complex, causing extreme fear of speaking in public, even to two or three individuals, has been eliminated. And the many little problems that arise daily in a large family are always solved through the application of Science.

On two occasions when I was in the Armed Forces my realization of the truth stood me in good stead. I had an instantaneous healing on the steps of a dispensary of a six weeks' spell of illness which had begun as a cold but had developed into something quite severe. I was hanging on, resisting medical treatment, but this day on K.P. I felt I could carry on no longer. I asked if I might go to the barracks to study for a few minutes. The answer was that I must work or go on sick call.
