Since Christian Science came into my life I have had many proofs of God's loving care. Healings have included those of pneumonia, blood poisoning, mumps, and an allergy which had caused me much misery for many years. The latter took the form of sensitivity to dust as well as to pollen. At times I was incapacitated, and physicians I had consulted were unable to relieve me.

After I became a student of Christian Science a severe manifestation of the allergy was healed as I read Mrs. Eddy's statement on page 200 of Science and Health, "Life is, always has been, and ever will be independent of matter; for Life is God, and man is the idea of God, not formed materially but spiritually, and not subject to decay and dust."

I was further led to study the word "irritation," and I realized that I was often irritated by and impatient of what I considered to be the failings of others. When I saw that this was only my own failure to see, in Science, the true, perfect man and made a genuine effort to curb criticism of others and to acknowledge their God-created selfhood, the allergy disappeared and did not return.
