Our Reading Rooms
Of Good Report
As our Leader's exalted purpose in establishing the Christian Science Reading Room is more clearly discerned and understood, our Reading Rooms generally will increase in usefulness, making the healing power of Christian Science ever more available to church member and stranger alike.
From a city in Wisconsin a librarian writes:
"There is a greater awareness of our Reading Room now that it is located on Main Street. A man who had reached a very low point was encouraged to go forward with the aid of Christian Science. He has continued to be faithful in his study and attends church regularly. Today he is a well and happy man. A young woman who was seeking answers to her questions about the Bible came to the Reading Room. One hip was higher than the other, making it necessary for lifts to be worn in one shoe. This condition has been corrected through her study of Christian Science. She was also healed of internal pains.
"We are grateful for the evidence of increased activity and for the healings that are taking place through the Reading Room among the newcomers, as well as among our church members."
From a branch church in Texas we hear:
"While our church edifice was under construction, we realized that a Reading Room located in the downtown area would best serve the people of our community. An ideal location was obtained at a corner of one of the busiest intersections of the city.
"Since the move, several newcomers have taken up the study of Christian Science. One individual who was suffering from great mental disturbance received her healing. She is now a regular attendant at church services, and her children are enrolled in the Sunday School.
"It is interesting to note that as soon as plans were under way for our new edifice and the relocation of the Reading Room, church attendance increased by at least 40 percent. Attendance in the Reading Room has more than tripled."
