Keeping One's Thought Clear
"To accept evil as real for another is to accept evil
as real for oneself"
Everyone prays in one way or another. Even one who claims to be an atheist performs some sort of prayer every time he turns his thought constructively to whatever he may be doing. The right of each individual to pray in his own way is one of the basic human liberties. Christian Science helps one to pray more spiritually and so more effectively.
The Apostle Paul gave this counsel: "Pray without ceasing" (I Thess. 5:17). Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 9), "Consistent prayer is the desire to do right." Prayer is an important part of the life of every Christian Scientist, and the entire first chapter of Science and Health is devoted to the subject.
