When I first heard of Christian Science...

When I first heard of Christian Science I was living in Switzerland. I had been in a sanatorium to prevent the development of incipient tuberculosis and later was treated for a spinal condition. I was told by a specialist never to do hard work, or my whole body would have to be put back in a cast from time to time.

Then I was guided to see a Christian Science practitioner, and she helped me to rise above fear. I read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and to my surprise I started to be happier and to feel better. Several months later I took up work as a housekeeper for a practitioner in another city. I shall never forget what a big impression her harmonious family life made on me, and I started to express more kindness and love.

More earnest study to Science opened the way for me to become a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church and to have class instruction. These were steps bringing great growth in Science for which I am deeply grateful.
