Gibeon (I Kings 3:5)

(gib'e-uni as in is, e as in event, u as in circus). Gibeon was originally the chief city of the Hivites (see Josh. 11:19) before the Israelites entered Canaan and has been identified with the modern el-Jib, about five and one half miles northwest of Jerusalem.
