I am extremely grateful for the protecting and healing power of Christian Science which I have experienced over many years, and it is difficult to express sufficient gratitude for Mrs. Eddy and all the loving, consecrated work she put into the discovery and founding of this religion.

When I first started to read her book, Science and Health, nearly thirty years ago, I threw away all the medicines which I had depended on for many years. Previously I had taken a remedy for constipation every night. Since throwing the medicines into the dustbin, I have had no desire or need to take any more, and I am very grateful for this freedom.

Some years after that, when I visited a dentist for an examination, he told me I had inflammation of the gums and that the nerves of one tooth, which was loose, were dead. I immediately decided to put into practice my understanding of Christian Science. On the way home, these words which I had recently heard came to my thought: "God loves me, and I love God." Also, I remembered Mrs. Eddy's statement in "No and Yes" (p. 39), "True prayer is not asking God for love; it is learning to love, and to include all mankind in one affection."
