Activities for the Armed Services

"Our family," writes an officer in the United States Army, "is very grateful for Christian Science Activities for the Armed Services. We have benefited greatly from the work of the Christian Science Minister here. He has helped every member of the family at one time or another during the past two years. The healings we have had as a result of Christian Science treatment have been numerous. Some have come quickly, others have required time; but in all circumstances our family needs have been fully met."

The various ways in which the families of Christian Scientists in the Armed Forces are being assisted by Armed Services Activities appear in the reports of Chaplains and of Christian Science Ministers and Representatives. In this column we relate experiences from these reports.

The son of an officer severely injured his head while playing at school. When the principal reported the accident to the parents, she recommended that the boy be sent to the hospital. Instead he was taken home, and the Minister was called. The boy was nauseated and could not see properly. As soon as the Minister began working, the child quieted down. The next day he was out playing; all evidence of the trouble had vanished.
