No one could have more to be grateful for than I have today. Words are inadequate to express all my gratitude to God for Christ Jesus, for Mrs. Eddy, our Leader, and for the wonderful way of Life, Christian Science. I am grateful that we as a family and individually have accepted Science as our way of Life. To serve God is my choice and my prayer each day.

We have had many healings through the application of Science: colds, headaches, skin irritations, influenza, and financial difficulties.

When our elder girl was six years old she had a fever accompanied by an ear infection and, to mortal sense, was very ill. She could not eat and lay around listlessly. My husband was a new student of Science at that time, but we both wanted to rely on it alone. However, at one time we drove to the office of a doctor and wanted to take our daughter in only to be examined, erroneously thinking a medical diagnosis would help us to know how to work out the problem in Science. We explained this to our girl, and her reply was: "Mommie, you wouldn't take me in there. I'm a Christian Scientist. Let's just go home and work harder."
