Christian Science was first presented to our family when my youngest brother was about five years of age. He was taken quite ill with what the doctors diagnosed as Bright's disease. They finally said they could do no more for the child and added, "Only God can help him now." I was asked to call a cousin who had been a student of Christian Science for several years. She gave me the names of two practitioners, one of whom I called.

The practitioner was very kind and said that she would pray for my brother and that my mother should read passages from the Bible, since we had no copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. A copy was, however, procured the next day. With the help of the practitioner, my brother was healed in a very short time. He is now married and has two children attending a Christian Science Sunday School.

Some time ago I developed a cold which caused me much discomfort from coughing. I stayed home from work one day and that evening told the practitioner who was helping me that I had an appointment the following evening, but that I could not keep it if I continued to cough. She said, "Keep that appointment, and you don't have to take a cough with you."
