Christian Science came into...
Christian Science came into my life some years ago when I was floundering about, wondering if there really is a God. I well recall walking along the street one day and asking myself: "Is there a God? All this preaching and talking about God, but where is He to be found?"
About this time I was employed in an office where there was one who was acquainted with Christian Science, although I did not know it at first. I had been suffering frequently from a physical condition, a misplaced organ, and was at times forced to go home because of the pain and discomfort it caused me. I had had help from many doctors and had taken medicines recommended by friends, but had found no relief.
When the condition again presented itself one day, this coworker came to me and recommended that I try Christian Science. She said she knew it would help me and explained something of it. But I did not understand and continued in the old way. Finally a minor operation was performed, but this was of no benefit to me. The outlook was very discouraging, and I felt that life was not worth living if I had to go on enduring the condition for the rest of my days.
