I am very thankful to God for...
I am very thankful to God for having had the privilege of studying and applying the teachings of Christian Science since the time I was a young child. In early childhood I became ill with scarlet fever. My mother reported the case to the proper authorities, as is customary with contagious diseases. She then called a Christian Science practitioner for help, and I was healed through her prayers in one day.
I applied the truths of Christian Science during my adolescence, and at a time when it became necessary for me to seek employment, I was divinely guided to a position that has led to a successful career over a period of many years. The thought given me to use in my prayerful work when I was seeking employment. was that of service, and I chose a position where I thought I could be of the greatest value to my fellow men.
One evening, as I was preparing to leave my place of business to return home, I discovered that one of the diamonds was missing from a ring I was wearing. This ring was a treasured family keepsake. I immediately declared to myself that because the divine Mind is infinite, its ideas cannot be lost and that all reality is spiritual. I made a search over a large area of the building, but to no avail. The building was visited by several hundred people during the day and evening.
