During the many years that I have been a Christian Scientist every problem and difficulty that has arisen has been solved or overcome by an application of the truths taught in Science.

I should like to relate the healing of an intestinal trouble. I could not sleep well, and the condition continued for many months. I did much prayerful work and strove earnestly to overcome mental and moral faults. But in spite of it all, there was no improvement.

One evening when I was returning home late and not looking where I was going, I stepped into a hole and fell, striking my face with such force on a heap of stones that I had hardly strength enough to get up. My face was badly disfigured, and when I arrived home my wife was alarmed at my appearance.
