WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST

[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on June 4, 1961.]

Line (Ps. 19:4)

This is a literal rendering of the Hebrew as we now have it, but there is general agreement among scholars that at an early period a scribe mistakely omitted the Hebrew letter which corresponds to our L, thus changing the sense of the word from "voice" (or "sound") to "measuring line." "Their voice" or "their sound" seems to provide a natural parallel to "their words" in the second clause of the verse.

Strength (Ps. 19:14)
