Since the turn of the century...

Since the turn of the century, when my grandparents began studying Christian Science, we have had numerous proofs in our family of God's loving care for His children. As a child I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School and learned to apply the Christ, Truth, to my schoolwork. In the business world, Christian Science, when properly applied, proved to be of inestimable value.

It was pointed out to me in Sunday School that the divine Mind never forgets and that, as the image of God, man reflects the wholeness of Mind, not just part of it. I found that as I began really to understand this, my memory improved, and I thus became more efficient in my office work.

At one time I was very lonesome, because I was living in a foreign country and away from my family. After I had attended a Christian Science lecture with a friend, this passage from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy kept coming to my thought (p. 506): "Spirit, God, gathers unformed thoughts into their proper channels, and unfolds these thoughts, even as He opens the petals of a holy purpose in order that the purpose may appear." The next day it was as if a great door had opened to let the flow of divine Love into my consciousness. The sense of loneliness left me completely, and I shall always be grateful for this experience.
