The Added Benefits of Spiritual Healing
A healing in Christian Science never leaves us where it found us. More often than not it impels us to learn how the healing was brought about. In such a healing it is as though a seed were planted in our hearts which, when tended by devotion and nurtured by gratitude, brings a change for the better in our lives.
As we engage in an earnest study of the Bible, in conjunction with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we soon discover that our thought is being led out of the finite realm of objects and things into the limitless realm of spiritual ideas within. We become aware of the spiritual government of the universe, the kingdom of God.
In the Master's time there were those who assumed that the Messiah, with which he identified himself, would come to the world with a great display of power and replace established governments, but this is not what Christ Jesus taught. When asked concerning the kingdom, he replied (Luke 17:20, 21), "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." In submission to this spiritual government we become superior to world conditions.
