During the many years that I have been studying Christian Science, I have found the textbook, Science and Health by our revered Leader, an infallible guide. It has been an indispensable counselor at every difficult point in my career, a guide in critical situations of a business, financial, or moral nature.

Tireless Christian Science practitioners have helped me over many rough places. However, in every instance the textbook was the essential starting point; it was the rock on which I could safely and confidently build. Why? Because the entire content of the book and the practitioners' scientific argument are based on the teaching and the example of the master Christian, Christ Jesus.

Through the thoughtless act of a third person, I became involved in a difficult business situation from which it was almost impossible to extricate myself without great harm. At the time, I had been a student of Christian Science for several years, and consciously and confidently I turned to a practitioner, who patiently turned my thought from the material evidence to spiritual realities and from a personal, disturbed sense to the calm, all-inclusive love of God. This guided me into healthy and fruitful paths, which, in turn, led to a right and just solution of the complicated business problem.
