I have been interested in Christian Science for many years. I knew from the first that it must be the truth and that it was what I needed. I had always expressed much fear, but now I wanted to apply what I was learning from my study of Christian Science. Since then the members of my family and I have had many healings.

When our daughter was about ten years old she became very ill and could not stand a bit of light. The shades had to be drawn. A practitioner was asked to work prayerfully for the child, but she seemed to get worse. On the third day, however, she remarked, "Mother, it is all gone, and I am perfectly well."

Later, while we were on a train journey, the child became ill again with the same symptoms. I made a bed on the seat for her and pulled down the shades. We were nearing a station in New Mexico, and as we were to be there for some time, I got out on the platform in order that I might declare the truth and overcome my own fear. When I returned to the car, our daughter was sitting by the window, the shade was lifted, and her face was beaming. She said, "I reached over on your seat and got the Bible."
