EXCELLENCE IN OUR WORK
When Christ Jesus healed the deaf man who had an impediment in his speech, those who stood by said in astonishment (Mark 7:37), "He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak." This recognition of the character of Jesus' work by those who witnessed its efficacy poses a question to us: Are we doing our work well?
Our Master explained his ability to do his work well when he said (John 5:19), "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise." He showed the source of his excellence to be God, the Father of us all. He proved the ability of man, God's likeness, to express God's perfection.
