"O MAGNIFY THE LORD WITH ME"

"O Magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together" (Ps. 34:3). How joyously we should accept this invitation to join with the Psalmist in praising God!

Christian Science teaches that true praise means the continual recognition and acknowledgment of God's allness and of the absolute perfection of man and the universe as created by Him. It means our rejoicing in the affluence and ever-presence of our God, in the acceptance of our sonship with Him, and in the making manifest of this sonship as we proceed about our daily tasks however humble they may be.

It is through praising or acknowledging God that we grow in spiritual understanding and thus fit ourselves to receive His blessings. In Malachi we find the following message from God (3:10): "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."
