About twenty-five years ago I heard of Christian Science from a practitioner in whose home I was living. I could not then understand these truths. A few years later, however, I was in great mental stress and fear. A sister in England was mentally ill, and this caused great fear that I also might be subject to this illness.

I visited numerous doctors whilst overseas, but somehow because of the word "drug," which I had heard used by others in discussing treatment my sister was receiving, I could not and would not take either medicine or drugs. It was then I remembered this wonderful Science. I returned to South Africa and sought the help of a practitioner.

This practitioner's steadfastness, love, and understanding, expressed throughout the years, has helped me, and I am grateful today that I can say in the words of the Bible (II Tim. 1:7), "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
