OUR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION WITH GOD

"What communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial?" cried Paul (II Cor. 6:14, 15). The answer to each question is obviously that these contraries have no relationship to each other.

As we come to God in prayer we must, as Christian Science insists, cast out of our consciousness that which is of darkness, or is devilish, or we shall not be aware of the light of Truth, nor shall we enjoy the blessings of the Christ, the divine idea of God.

Spiritual communion with God naturally lifts our thoughts and lives higher in the scale of health, harmony, happiness. We are not in full communion with our heavenly Father if ignorance shuts us out from the recognition of His ever-presence. We are not in intimate conversation with Him if our thoughts are filled with evil, hatred, discord, death. God is not to be found in matter or mortal error, and we do not feel His presence if we insist on harboring in thought the darkened concepts that separate us from Deity.
